    Boss BF-2 Flanger

The Boss BF-2 Flanger is one of the best mid-priced flangers out there in pedal land. The range of modulated manipulation the BF-2 is capable of is staggering. Spend an hour or two with this wonder and you’ll be dialing in the typical “finger on the tape” flanger sounds, insane jet plane swooshings, sweeping choruses, death-ray vibratos, hazy pads, short reverberated slap-backs and even a bit of lead boost! Toss a distortion, overdrive or a delay in the mix and you’ll find yourself in a whole other realm of wild and wacky sounds. From the sonic shifts of Van Halen to the modulated coolness of The Cure or The Cult, the BF-2 can add that extra something special to leads and riffs. When activated, the BF-2 does tend to add a tiny bit of metallic ping to your overall sound. This may be a little disappointing if you’re used to the warm analog MXR or ADA Flangers of the 1970s. Despite this slight sonic annoyance, The BF-2 Flanger is still a great little box with a lot of tricks up its purple sleeve. With the release of newer Boss flangers, these older BF-2 are easy to be had on the used market.
