that art upset me. so much raw talent in one three-minute clip, I can't handle it.


art needs to upset people with purpose and purity. the art that upsets people is supposed to upset them because of its honesty, it needs to inspire change. thats what a lot of music from the 60's was about. it upset people because its honesty, and its purpose, a call for change. The only thing The Vine's cause people to change is the radio dial.

I can go around being an asshole, fart in elevators, throw trash on the ground, make babies cry. It'll upset people. It won't be art. For me thats where 'The Vines' fall.
