Problems with ht-dual and mark v

Ive seen a few similar posts, but I haven't seen any clear fixes to this type of issue.... I have a blackstar ht-dual, which used to sound great coming out of my fender deville, but sounds awful through my mark v. Sounds horrible in the loop, and just about as bad in front of the amp. When you turn on the pedal the volume drops, there is no gain, and sounds really flubby. Awful. I want to get a few different distortion pedals to have access to some different sounds (I'm looking at a suhr riot, maybe one of the keeley distortion boxes) but I'm apprehensive to get anything because I don't know if these pedals will have the same problem. So, does anyone know what's up with this? What causes this? Does anyone know of a workaround to this problem?
