I got a Beano Treble Booster made by Retroman, here is a link to his HC post: http://www.harmony-central.com/Effec.../Beano-01.html
These give you a boost of treble, and kind of drive you tubes a bit. It's not an overdrive, the pedal itself doesn't distort, it just adds a push. Treble boosters can be noisy. This particular one that I bought has a 'hiss knob', which I can use to dial out the excessive noise that it causes (very normal for these pedals). If you play a tube amp and use an overdrive from either pedals or an amp, this adds a 'bite' to your sound. I wouldn't recommend it to use all the time, only when needing that extra push and cut. If you play a transistor amp, it will sound like poo. I've used it into a tube driver pedal, and it was not bad, it cleaned up nicely and added a whole lot of clean drive. These have a selector switch that allows 3 different options (in varying degrees of brightness). These things will make your sound a lot brighter, to the point where it's piercing sometimes. Famous treble booster users: Brian May, Ritchie Blackmore, Eric Clapton and others (that I can't think of at the moment). PM me for Retroman's email if you are interested.
