My new PRS fingerboard smelled that way, and I always washed my hands before playing it. I was like 'wtf?' Then I realized it was the abalone inlay.

Just give it time, it goes away.

I gave the Maverick to nyrkickazz1, and man, I miss that amp. IT SURVIVED! I have it back now.
