No they didn't, for some reason that's a VERY wide spread rumor at the hands of the manufacturers- it's like the Dunlop Hendrix wah "giving you his tone." Nonsense, Hendrix and Clapton used the V846 and Jimi's was modded, i dont know about EC's (but now he uses a modded Dunlop crybaby).
