Here's another question: why are there so many different AC/DC converters in the world? Why isn't there just one converter that takes 120V at 60Hz, and spits out 9V DC up to 1.5A? I mean, why does every 9V device ever made come with its own custom wall wart power converter?

And why do people pay hundreds of dollars for DC bricks and Vodoo Labs power supplies? I feel bad even paying $50 for my Godlyke supply when I have a bunch of 9V suplies laying around that have the same specs that cost nothing.
