The Deville 4x10 & 2x12 are both great amps. They're bashed a lot but half the bands I see come through town use them regularly. I owned a HR Deluxe, and then a 4x10 HR Deville. I didn't like the Deluxe, but I still regret selling my Deville. The tone is amazing clean, Fendery, but distinctive in it's own right... maybe a little bit more modern and dark than a Blackface Fender, and I thought the drive channel in moderation was fine for leads. The Reverb is great, too bad it's not footswitchable. My only problem with these amps are the cheap plastic input jacks with metal nuts. Marshall uses plastic jacks, but the plastic nuts do not strip the plastic jacks like Fender's metal ones do. It's a bad design (overstock parts from when they bought Sunn amps if I remember right), but this really won't effect you unless your careless with them. My problem occurred when a drum stand fell on my cable plug that was plugged into the jack and stripped the nut right off. Honestly, they're a pain to replace, but you can do it yourself if you are careful. I don't want to scare you, I wouldn't let that little design flaw scare you, I would just buy the amp and enjoy it, while treating the jacks with a small amount of care!
