Mesa boogie:
Cleans: Very solid state-like. When compressed, very good for Strat-like funky rhythms. Virtually attack-less but individual strings can still be heard separatelyDistortion: High-gain. With mids about level, very Linkin Park electro metal-like. Cutting mids gives extreme nu-metal tone..
I cant agree completely with this.

The PRS is a good match but a PRS is a good match with alot of things. But the PRS-Mesa combo is a little cleche'. I owned a Triple Rec for some time and i never really thought it did the nu metal very good. I know alot of top touring nu metal bands use it . . . . but they dont run straight from the head to the guitar either, there are quite a few stops along the way. What i am getting at is the mid range of a Mesa is almost non existent. A great amp if you want to scoop them out but . . . . in my tone i want as much mid range as i can get. I think most touring bands enhance there sound alot through multiple eq's, maximizers, sound techs' etc. to get that tone. A tone that most of us would have a hard time getting. And a note . . . . notes on a Mesa wont cut the mix . . . they get lost.

dont even worry about it unless your the son of a billionair oil entreprenuer. Great amp but for royalty.

Framus
Great amp . . . i own one . . . . i love it more than life itself . . . . i would run into a burning house to save it . . . . amazing high distortion . The highest i am yet to hear. Ultra clear cleans . . . . i am thinking of getting engaged to it sometime soon . . .. marriage next year. . . . . anyway. I have a cobra but dont forget about the dragon . . . dragon = slightly less distortion but darker sounding.

Really really good distortion . . . its up with Framus on my list . . . . but the clena channel isnt so great. I almost . . . almost bought a powerball . . . . but the Cobra was just to sweet.

I have had a 5150 for 4 years and it s a very very good amp for its price. when i first started playing i wanted dirt . . . and well dirt and not to much clean. This amp is for that. Disortion channel is very good . . . . its sounds a little cold compared to my Framus but it kicked my Mesa's Ass IMHO. Clean channel sucks. . . . but there is a guy on here who mods these for a warmer sound and a better clean chennel . . . thefobia knows about him . . . he did his amps.

-THats my well 10cents . . .. take it for what you will . . . i only talked about the amps i have had personal experience with.
