I'll definitely give it more thought. I definitely don't want my upgrade guitar to be the same cheap crap that my Epiphone is!

I'm looking to spend as little as possible, because really this whole Telecaster idea came out of nowhere. My eye is on the ESP EC-1000, which is basically a Les Paul. I didn't want to splurge on this guitar as an upgrade just because I figure, besides the feel and basic sound, it wouldn't be too much of a departure from my Epiphone. A figure if I can spend a modest amount on a Tele, than I'll have a good range of sounds.

Any input on what a Telecaster sounds like in front of a Peavy XXX? Haha
