tremolo tuning problems
i've never really played guitars with tremolo arms before, but i just bought a cort strat copy as a beginner guitar for my little bro..
perfectly fine beginner guitar for the price, played nicely, nice action, cheap sounding pickups, all good... i left him with it for two weeks and he busted a bunch of strings and tried to replace them himself and did a reasonable job, however, now its practically impossible to retune...
as i said before, i have zero experience with tremolo units and this one seems dodgy, it doesn't lock at all.. i tune up 2 or 3 strings and then tuning the rest puts it all out of wack raising the trem arm way out of its seating and thus the action.. the only way to get it somewhat in tune is to have it so tense the trem arm is bent out all the way and you can actually tune the strings...
also the intonation seems shot now after messing around adjusting tuning with a screwdriver on the trem unit...
just spent way too long and don't know how on earth to work it.. obviously it is possible as it was fine before, how on earth do you tune these things?
