Your reluctance to use your volume knob (or pedal) suprises me coming from someone who described himself as a serious musician. I have always thought of using a volume knob as a skill in itself just like playing guitar, and it just comes with the territory. Using a pedal is easier and more reliable, but it limits you so much on th number of tone available to you. With a knob you can choose exactly how much gain you want, allowing you to get just the right sound for each song.
And have you thought of selling your Jubilie and buying a TSL or some other 3 channel amp.
