let me reccomend a boss ns2. i play a ton of metal and i use it with my marshall to kill the noise from my overdrive pedal. the one downside is it cuts off sustain so i turn off the noise gate if i play leads. one noise gate that i would like to try is the ISP decimator. it is said to be the best noise gate availible.
