Yes, I tightly tie strings to the pot and switch shafts and leave about three feet of length on them.

Then turn the guitar upside down and get the pots out of the F holes. put a thick piece of cloth over the guitar.

Then unsolder the pickup wires from the controls on the face of the guitar and tie strings to them. unbold the pickups and pull them out through the pickup holes. Detach the sorings from the pickup wires and hook the strings to the new pickup wires, and pull them through and bolt down the new pickups.

Solder the pickup wires to where they go on the controls. Once they're secure, pull the switch and pots back through the guitar with the strings, bolt everything down well, and rock.
