It's accurate, I did the mod myself. The best way to do it is to take a small pair of scissors (one you cut your finger nails with, for instance) and simply cut one leg of the element you want to remove, then bend it upwards so that the contact is open. Thus you can easily undo it in case you don't like the sound.
