They are just old.......
They were the older versions of the todays so much used TL072 which have less noise issues.
They are just old; I generally replace em with TL072. Try some TL072's in the Barber and see if you can spot the difference. The 4558 chip inside it just has that little mid notch, the TL072 is a bit more lineair.
