Steer clear of the Clone Theory : a friend of mine bought one second hand and the noise level was so bad it was unusable. He figured maybe he had a dodgy one 'cause it was secondhand so he bought a new one. Same thing. Utterly useless. He was crushed 'cause he's a big Hooky fan and was dying for them to bring out a reissue.
Also, the Clone Theory is NOT a re-issue - it's a different circuit.

So maybe berarduur's suggestion of a modded Small Clone is the go. BYOC do VB2 kits - I've never built nor heard one though...
