i think it's just different people and different applications.. i use a ehx dmm.. and i love it i had one before and like a tard sold it... then got a digitech digidelay... but the only setting i could stand was the tape simulation... so i went back to a new dmm... i can't honestly tell you why... it just feels better to me... though my honest first choice is a fulltone tube tape echo... just a little pricey right this second... cause when i was in the studio with my band i got to use an old space echo tape delay... and i loved it... still wouldn't ever get rid of my dmm again.. we used it for dirty delays, and the space echo for clean delays truth be told... anyway i'd say try as many as you can then decide for yourself... but i think that about everything..
