Well, I was considering building a speaker cabinet for my guitar, when a good friend of mine said he had a 1976 Marshall Cabinet that's pretty flippin' rare that he would just loan me, but probably never want back, this was exciting. He said it has orange tolex and it's been through hell and back. By hell he means a fire. He said it's still in good condition, though even for being through a fire.
But here's the problem, the speakers are shot. The cabinet is made of birch. I need a good set of 12" speakers.
I would like something that is pretty level as far as frequencies are represented.
I would be playing a 15w tube Randall through it, and I'm even looking at the old 50w Traynors from the 70's right now to run through this (maybe even a Sovtek or something else a little more 'out there').
Bands I listen to:
ISIS
Tool
Melvins
Opeth
A Perfect Circle
Mastodon
Red Sparowes
Just a note... The Alnico Blues are out of the picture... I don't like the price
Edit: Anyone know where I can get these speakers cheap?
