Open G is a particularly easy slide tuning. You can make a chord with one finger and you can do some fun stuff with the upper strings.

Remember to keep your fingers pressed on the strings (behind the slide) so that you're muting all the non-essential noise and just getting the plucked slide notes. Helps with the clarity.
