Tube combo question? Im stuck.

Hey guys, this is my first official thread here.

Ok, i have an ibanez RG321 w/59' and custom duncan pickup.
My amp is a Marshall MG100dfx.
i fugured it was about time to upgrade my amp.

So, what im looking for is the best new TUBE amp for no more than say $850. I will be using this amp in my gameroom for practice but would like to be able to do small gigs.

The kind of music i play is 95% nu-metal. Godsmack, Chevelle, Nickelback, Creed, etc. So i really would like an amp with good heavy distortion for -godsmack,chevelle, and Good clean for creed and nickelback.etc.

So far i have looked at the
Marshall Dsl401 40watt tube
Peavey XXX 40 watt tube w/fx
along with the 60 watt tube .

I have had alot of people pick the peavey 40 over the marshall. But is it going to be loud enough? Also do they have enough bottom end. I might ought to get a avatar ext. cabinet. but what size. the problem is i can only demo the Triple x head with 4-12cabs. No one is dallas has the super 40 or 60. Darn. help me?

What would be my best bet. I want new equipment. no used.
Thanks i guess this is a good start.
