Amp speaker out
I did something stupid. I turned on my Dr Z head and turned off the standby. No sound was coming out and then I realized that I did not plug it in the speaker cab.
I know that this is a no-no. I only had it running off stand by for a few minutes, and I don't think it damaged anything. I sounded fine to me.What will happen if you run a head for too long w/o the speaker cab plugged into it? |

A SS head? Nothing.
A Valve head? You will (quickly/eventually)burn out your output transformer.

Ad on a side note, if it doesn't sound damaged for now, then it probably isn't. It could have some minor damage that, over many years, might show up, but from my understanding of tube amps, you should get at least a few more years out of this amp of yours.
Just wait for olddawg to come along and quash my message of hope...
