Any bands that play with a Mesa Nomad?

I see these at the store all the time, but i hear nobody play through them. I would like to, but it looks like a bitch to eq. Anybody know what these things sound like?

Not among the most popular Mesa amps, but the lead guitarist in my old band used one, and i rather liked it. 3 channels, EQ w/ footswitch, reverb, solo button, I like having all that on a footswitch. Nice cleans too.

I've got a Nomad 55 4x10.

It IS a bitch to EQ. Extremely sensitive controls even on the clean channel. However, this gives you an infinite amount of pretty useable sounds. The key to this amp is versatility, it can do just about anything with the proper gain box(I use a Keeley DS-1). Tons of features, and loud as hell. Play the ones near you if you get a chance.

The other guitarist that I am playing with now uses one of these amps and he gets a very nice sound out of it. They seem to be pretty flexible amps to me. If you aren't going for that traditional rectifier sound then these are worth looking at.

I use a Nomad 55 2x12 with my band (rock stuff). You can get a lot of sounds out of the amp. I am finally getting around to really starting to tweak the settings. It holds up fine on stage, its plenty loud and the solo button on the footswitch is quite nice in a gig setting. I may eventually bump up to a dual rectifier, but I got this amp almost at cost brand new so it will do for now. No complaints here.

there is this local band called simplicity that both guitar players switched to dual nomads.

i used to have a nomad 55 head, it was nice

i didnt mine the eq, i have two in my rig so it didnt really matter.

it was hard to find some sweet spots though those dials are sooo touchy. i didnt like the onboard reverb, maybe the one i had was not working right or something. the clean and od are pretty good, you would need a pedal or something for high gain though.

the vintage setting is great for blues, oh man it was pretty sweet. wishing i could have afforded not to sell it now that i write this.

it was really loud too, but that is pretty common with mesa.

The Nomad is more versatile, and IMO better sounding than the Lone Star, but it is no match for the versatility of the Mark IV or F-50.

I actually played a nomad in a shop once, but for some reason it didn't seem to have enough gain for me.The distortion was pretty smooth though, more then the dual recto IMO.

Surprisingly the cleans were really nice, that impressed me more then the distortion, espicailly with the reverb turned up a bit, it sparkled. I would of bought it if it wasn't so weak in the gain department.
