Definatly a Marshall amp of some kind.

The Marshall will take the high mids, the Mesa will take the low mids. It sounds thick, and it lets you each dwell in your own sonic territory.

currently... an AVT150h

But...

and TSF was an old ska band i was(am) in, but we dont play ska anymore. it's like kind of emoey sounding without being sad.

but my newer band Revere is 'sk8punck' but all the stuff on our purevolume page was recorded over 3 days - same days as writing the songs - isn't home recording useful...
(our first 3 ever practices.) so we've sort moved on from there.

a jcm2000 will work well. a jcm800 with a hot plate or some kind of power attentuator will work as well, but the 2000's have multiple channels

Best amps that go with Mesas IMO/experience:

1. Marshall JCM 800 (the one we used was fully modded by Voodoo but a stock one would sound good too)
2. Marshall JCM 2000 DSL
3. Peavey 5150II
4. Rivera Knuckle Head

Any high-gain EL34 amp will do the job well. The only 6l6 amp Ive heard that sounds good with my Mesa is the 5150II

Marshall JCM series amp

Soldano Hotrod amp

really anything that is high gain and covers mainly the higher mid end of things.

a 5150 should work or a marshall.... the marshall would probably stick out more because the 5150's have massive low end like mesa's so a marshall would probably sound clearer.

In either of those pairs the Mesa should definitely be responsible for the "balls" because both the 5150 and Marshalls have searing high end and presence.

Krank amps are very unpopular on this board. I have never tried them so I can’t comment on there sound, but I know there business practices are very questionable. Harmony Central removed several Krank reviews because employees were writing their own.
