delay when switching channels

hey guys, i bought a used mesa boogie single rec and when i use the factory footswitch to change between the channels there is a nice fat 1/4 second delay where the sound cuts out. it does this going from clean to dirty and from dirty to clean. i just put brand new tesla 6l6's and tesla 12ax7's in and they sound great. this amp has exactly the sounds i need but if this problem can't get fixed i'm gonna sell it. i'm in a cover band right now and there is no way to play songs like "fly from the inside" from shinedown, where in the beginning it goes from clean to dirty so fast. i've seen a post before with a guy with a marshall that had a similar problem but i can't find it. has anybody had this problem before and actually fixed it? thanks for all your help.

eric

I think it's a characteristic of all single input/dual channel amps.

I could be very wrong.

I have a 3 channel dual recto and no delay in switching might be your footswitch.

I don't think its faulty at all. I have EXACTLY the same problem with my single recto. I don't know what to do about it, but I usually use some delay on my cleans, so the silence is VERY noticeable when I change channels.

I doubt the amps or switches are faulty, because both of ours are doing the same thing. Anyone else got that problem with the single rectos??
