Differences in Fender Bassman(s)

So what's the difference in the current model of Fender Bassman combo(LTD) and the ones that were around a decade ago with less laquer on the tweed? other than a few hundred dollars...

The LTDs have real pine cabinets like the vintage ones.

Also they come with better speakers, and I BELIEVE (but dont quote me on it) much better tubes.

I think thats it. But from the one's i've heard in person, they are a major upgrade in sound from the regular bassman reissues.

What about the rectifier? I seem to remember something about the LTDs having a tube rectifier while the older reissues were ss.

It appears I'm goign to have to keep searching for an LTD and not settle for one of the others.
