There was a band where I used to live that sounded sort of like the Murder City Devils but a little more garage-rockish and their guitarist played an LP into a VB half-stack. It sounded harsh and crazy and matched their style pretty well. Looked cool, too, if you can get past the Crate stigma.

I'm actually selling a BV cab...worked pretty well for me.

I'll agree on that. The lows are there, just not at the frequency that needs to be heard for a guitar. The solid state Crate my other guitarist used at the time had more nutz than the BV.
I do think that they make a good rock or metal amp, with ****loads of gain. I liked mine, but the sound wasn't the Mesa that I'd always wanted. If you like a really distorted sound, with not much low end, then the BV amps are your piece of cake.

They sound a lot like DSLs, at least the 120 watters do. the 150 and 300 have more bass and a heavier tone.

I used to have one. It was the really old version , killer overdrive ... decent clean. It was good just not my style. That's why I have a Vox now.

Personally, i think they lack low end and clarity. Pretty weak circuit too.

I think the distortion was pretty good on it, but the cleans were horrible. I think it would be pretty cool if you AB'd it with another amp, but I'd rather buy an amp with good cleans and use a distortion pedal.

+1. If you like the DSL, then the BV120 is a great, cheaper alternative.
