How to install speakers in my 4 X 12.
Hi everyone, This is in reference to my previous thread about putting 8 and 16ohm speakers in the same cabinet. Well anyway I decided to go with all 8 ohm speakers. I bought 2 25watt G12M greenbacks and 2 vintage30 G12'S now I need some advice as to how I should install them. What I mean is should I put both the same speaker side by side, should I put the greenbacks on the top and v30's on bottom or vise versa, or in an X pattern. I want to install them so I get the best possible sound projection that I could get from them so any advice anyone can offer will be most appretiated...thank guy's and or ladies.
Oh BTW I am putting them into a marshall mode4 4X12 angled cab. Last edited by station5343; 06.07.12 at 3:50 AM. Reason: Misspelled a word. |

Let your ears do the configuration, some like it one way, others like it another... To blend them though would be X pattern. There's really no way to get "the best sound projection" cause really, it's all up to how you wish your tone. It's oversized as well, so I don't think you'll have a problem with bass response

If you were in a large studio/room, by yourself, you could probably turn the cab, and hear a difference in speaker orientation. But, in the Real World, you will never know.
Install them in an 'X', and mark the back of the cab for a future/easy recording/micing reference. best |
