I picked up a Yamaha t100

Found a guy practically giving this gem away so i had to buy it. It's in solid condition, has had the 'choke' mod, but is in serious need of re-tubing. My experience with tube shopping has only ever been for a 5150/6505 and I usually use sovtek or JJ. It has 4 power and 7 preamp sockets. I'm going for a dry/ballsy tone. Any suggestions for brands on configurations?

Sorry, no tube suggestions from me but I'm curious about the amp. Is that one of the Mike Soldano designed ones?

I've been happy with JJ power tubes and a mix of JJ and Tung-Sol preamp tubes. As far as I can tell the Soldano circuits are designed to be pretty predictable regardless of tubes used, but its very subjective when it comes to questions of tubes and tone.

I'm interested to hear how you like the amp too!

I'll probably pick up some JJs soon. So far I know that I like the amp. I think it's going to take re-tubing and sitting down to tweak it perfectly. The plan is to bi-amp it along side my 6505 and go BALLS TO THE WALL
