looking at changing my amp
hello folks....i bought a fender supersonic combo and at first I loved it(only gigged it once). at the gig I was told it sounded great but im not entirley happy with the burn channel as it lacks a lot of bass. also the clean channel pisses me off because im not happy with the two clean tones without changing the eq so ive settled on the bassman channel with pedals.
I think that it is pretty pointless owning this amp just to use a single channel so im looking to trade it in and get a new amp. I own a blackstar ht-dual and an sd-1 and i am soon to buy a seymour duncan pickup booster and 535q cry babay i am looking for amp suggestion for hendrix/srv/allman brothers/steeley dan styles of music with my pedal able to take me into heavier teritory. so im thinking maybe a singles channel amp which i can drive just to the point of break up although im not adverse to suggestions to multi channel amps. i will probably get around 800 pounds at the least for my supersonic and i am willing to pile in some more money. so amps that have caught my eye fender deulux reverb fender super reverb cornford hurricane cornell 18/20 plexi anybody with expirience with these amps any info yould be greatly appriciated and anyother suggestions. ps. i am not against getting a head and cab its just that our band are always micd up when we play and i play a lite ash strat Dan

Super Reverb: 50 watts, 6L6 finals. very clean until blisteringly loud for a 50 watt amp. Will break up nicely when pushed. Main stay of many classic blues club bands. Conford Hurricane: Haven't got a clue. Cornell 18/20 plexi: Sounds like it may be a 18 watt Marshall clone with a Plexi preamp with EL84 finals. Something like that. I love 18 watt Marshalls. That plexi type amp will get you closer to that AB sound at a much lower volume than a 50 watt Marshall. If it is anything like my 18 watt clone it will love pedals and be very touch sensitive and rich in harmonics. I would try them all. These are very different amps and it's like comparing apples and oranges.
