There's a JCM600 up on eBay right now.

ValveState 100 = good cleans? I dont thin so. They have got to be the most dead clean sound ever. Ive got one and I also have a DSL 50. The DSL eats the VS100 clean.

Try a distortion pedal of any kind in a VS100 and then stick it in the DSL or any other valve amp with decent cleans. You will see the difference.

Just purchased a mint JTM30 for 345. I'm pretty happy. It should come sometime in the next week.

Not so. In the studio, Hendrix used a Fender Twin for his cleans.

Hang on, I just read an interview with Eddie Kramer (Jimi's producer). Apparently, a lot of those clean tones were from putting the guitar direct to the mixing desk. Keep in mind though, that they were still using tube desks back then.

Motorhead is on a distinguished road
Question

How would the clean side for blues playing (Brit or American) of :

Marshall DSL 401 40 Watt 3 Channel Tube Combo

compare to a Fender Hotrod Deluxe ?

I know it apples and oranges but I need a general idea before I go in to buy in the next week or so.

I have a TSL100 and i like my cleans...but i dunno...i wish they were more shimmery and had more clarity. They tend to be a tad muffled and overdiven.
