simple question, can i run a 225 watt speaker in a 40 watt tube amp? i'm not intrested in the wattage or have the idea that this speaker will make it loader and better, this perticular speaker produces the tone that fits my needs and style of play thanx

But of course! You will be really far from pushing it into speaker breakup, but other than that you should have no problems.

Selling BOSS FW-3. I live in Brazil, mind you, so prepare yourself for $30-ish for shipping and waiting. Local pickup available, along with beautiful beaches and cheap bitches.

Why pay for a hooker and not enjoy it? Slap that sucker in, and enjoy it with your ears! It'll be fine, you only have to worry when the speaker wattage is less then the amp wattage.

I think I remember reading somewhere that if the speaker is really underpowered (40W vs 225W) it might not sound very good. Won't hurt to try it though, and if it does sound good then you're set!

keksdose is an unknown quantity at this point
You should make sure that the impendance (measured in ohms) of the speaker matches the output of the amp. Tube amps are known to tolerate minor mismatches. Here is more about that: SPEAKERS & OHMS!!!! Everything you need to know about SPEAKERS & OHMS!!!
