need new amp under £400 (or about $750)
i currently have a line6 spider and really hate it. i bought it because it was versitile and good at low volumes but now i need something else. I'd prefer a valve amp but as long as it sounds good it's not crucial. I've been looking at:
Vox cambridge/vr30 Fender blues junior Marshall dsl40 Laney vc30 i used to have the vox cambridge and know i'd really like that, especially with the footswitches for channel, boost, reverb and trem. Blues junior would be well nice, but i'm not sure if one channel would be enough. would a distortion pedal still get a pretty good sound? like a tube screamer or sumthin Because of just one channel problem i looked into a marshall and cheapest valve was dsl40, also had a look at the laney because its pretty cheap and is meant to sound like an ac30? anyway, i play mostly heavy rock/indy/alternative stuff. any help would be great. thanks alot PS the amps i listed arent definate ones i want, just ones ive looked at, any suggetions would be great! |

I've got a blues jr, it's fantastic, but have you considered the AC15 CC? You can probably pick one up for just under £400...
In fact, imuso.co.uk have one for that price: Vox AC15 at imuso.co.uk

yeah forgot about the AC15, cheers mate. i'd prolly try and pick one up second hand anyway so it would hopefully be less than 400 quid!

the fender deville is channel switchable and sounds great. Best clean ive heard in a while. it goes for about 799 but thats enough to talk them down to your level.

I'll sell you my Peavey Classic 50......if you don't mind all the shipping costs and haggles.

Hi.
Just looking at your type of music, I would suggest the Laney first, and then the Marshall. The Peavey Classic range is fantastic value for money, but thet do ot make the best Industrial amps - UNLESS you are willing to run a well-dirty pedal infront of it. Peavey (with no FX) target the blues/blues-rock folk more than NIN guys. CHEERs

Look into the Peavey Valveking(s). Sounds like what you want.
