Talking New Amp Day!

I finally got hold of a Roland JC-77 from a guy who rehearses where I work! I swung it for £250 ($390), and it's all in perfect condition, especially considering the fact that it's from 1981, so it's 13 years older than me! This is MY first amp I bought for myself (I like buying everything for myself, although my Dad has nice gear too), and it really suits me because of my intensely slim physique (I can lift the amp!), the fact that I play with all kinds of musicians (with the right pedal in front of it, this can handle anything!) and since it's solid-state I can get a good bedroom sound out of it! I love the sound of this amp and the chorus is absolutely perfect, although I wouldn't mind replacing the reverb tank with an Accutronics (I'm not sure which model no. so any help would be mucho appreciated!) as the reverb sounds poor at higher levels. I've been using my acoustic guitar with pickup through it to get some super clean sounds, and when I click on the DS-1 and HM-2 the amp really sings, with very little feedback (not sure if that's the amp's fault or not). I was so inspired by this amp that I wrote a song in the first 5 minutes of playing with it, and I think it'll be with me for a long time!

Pics or it didn't happen!

But seriously, congratulations! I have the feeling it's not exactly that fun to carry around for gigs like you say it is though. Well, at least you don't have to worry about breaking the tubes.

ha ha. i know what you mean there's a sense of pride and value to earning something yourself rather than the kids that get handed a marshall stack for their birthday and are complete douche bags because they've got cooler gear than you.

That's rad I wisih I could find one of those Roland JC-77's. A JC-120 is just overkill.

My bank account hates me now. Still, those kids suck. I show up to rehearsals with a Fender Frontman, they show up with a Krank Krankenstein (horrid amp) or Mesa/Boogie Dual Recto...

Cheers dude! It was on a freak chance that a guy who's moving house wanted to sell it, but then he disappeared, so I thought I couldn't get it, then I went to work yesterday and it was sitting at the bottom of the stairs! The JC-120 would probably get me a few days off work with back pains similar to the Orange Rockerverb 50 .
