new tubes in a TSL
i havent replaced the tubes in my marshall tsl that came with it when i bought it, and ive seen a lot of talk about new tubes recently on here. Ide really like to get a more heavier sound out of this amp, or atleast more gain. i love the lush marshall tone tho also. I dont have the money or the need to go buy a new head, vht, bogner, mesa whatever, but i can spend some money on tubies no problem. so if you guys have any suggestions for what brand/type of tube would give me the heaviest possible sound, and what brand would give me the best tone, then i'll just try them both and see if i have to sacrifice tone or gain for the sound i like more. it would be really nice to just have them both tho

I really like JJ e34Ls in the jcm2000 series also the jj preamp tubes will give you a little darker distortion eh makes some great ones as well all up to taste on preamp tubes.

Chinese 9th Generation 12ax7s. They aren't as dark as the JJs, and have more gain.
I do agree about JJ E34Ls. I'm a firm believer in JJ tubes, and the E34L is one of the best tubes IMO. In case you don't know, they have the low end grunt of a 6L6, and the mids and highs of an EL34.
