Shipping an amp

Right now I'm trying to sell an amp, and I'm considering putting it on ebay. However, I have no idea how to go about shipping an amp. It's a 212 combo and it weighs about 75 lbs packed. I have the original packaging from it when I bought it online. Do any of the carriers pick up packages at your house to get delivered, and if so does it cost extra? I'm living in the city with no car, and I have no way to get an amp this big to a post office or store in any sort of reasonable fashion (I could take it on the bus but that'd be absolute hell). How do the denizens of the board go about shipping amps?

Firstly, its expensive to ship an amp. But yes they'll pick up from your house. It won't cost anymore than usual since that's how couriers operate but it will cost more than sending from the post office. To be honest I wouldn't even be sure the post office would take it. Just ask several couriers for a quote and see what they say.

Most of the big package delivery companies like UPS, FedEx, DHL will sometimes accept packages. You will need to pay for postage online and print your own label. It must also meet all of their shipping requirements. It will cost you a small fortune to send it. I'm not entirely sure that they will be able to take something so bulky. If you live in a city, you should consider using craigslist. Way easier than ebay since most of the time they are willing to pick it up from your house and alot of them pay cash so you won't have to pay money to paypal to take it out.
