That would make probably the biggest difference!!! more headroom at more volume!!!

thanks for all the advice guys, will def look into the copper rectifier replacement.

i'm leaning towards keeping what i have and controlling the volume via the guitar or a volume pedal, because i really like the dirty crunchy overdrive that i get.

but lots of options to explore! thanks again.
