Hi guys, this might sound like a stupid question, but I am new to heads/cabs, and tubes in particular.
I was considering buying the new Vox Night Train, but won't be able to afford a cab to go with it straight away. Is it possible to play it through my Ashton combo amp (using the combo as a cab) somehow until I can afford a cab? Thanks. |

Probably.
Need specific details of ohms and watts to answer better. Also how the existing amp connects to the speakers in the Combo will simple things up.

thanks for your reply.
i found out that it can't be done on my particular amp, as the speaker's connection to the head is internal and that outputting to the combo's standard guitar input will ruin things. im just going to try and sell my amp to assist with purchasing a cab. cheers. |

i have a set of JJ´s, 6l6´s in my amp, and was just wondering, if i buy the same 6l6 tubes, do i need to re-bias?

Always! Every time you buy a new set of tubes you need to rebias your amp. Hell, you even need to rebias your amp every now and then as tubes give out and lower their bias by use and tear.

Question, I have a high gain head with four 12ax7 preamp tubes and four 6l6 power tubes. What can I switch these tubes out to get a thicker, more attack, tighter tone without spending over $200. Any suggestions
