VOX AC30 or Fender Twin Reverb?
Will an AC30cc2 with a tubescreamer produce desireable distorted tones? and how distorted? (I'd like to use the tubescreamer as a booster)
Also, I'm torn between the AC30 and the Twin Reverb RI, any suggestions?

Those 2 amps are completely different. Personally I'd choose the AC-30. An Ac-30 with an overdrive boost will produce very desireable distorted tones....provided you aren't trying to play black metal or anything like that.

i run a ac30cc head with a ts9 and i love it. the ts9, as expected will make u surrender a bit of tone but it helps tremendously with the gain. you wont be able to play any napalm death, but you wouldnt be considering an ac30 if you wnated to. you wont be dissapointed. i can dial in a pretty desent early sabeth tone with my rig. it loves playin aerosmith style stuff. the tsp + ac30 will yeild a tone really close to joe perry's in mama kin. that reall vintage kinda dirty sound. hope it helps! good luck.

Thanks for the input. I was considering using one of the two amps as a clean channel since the mesa's clean is ok but nothing to write home about.
I'm leaning towards the AC30.

jeremy from sunny day real estate uses an ac30 with a ts-9. regardless of your musical tastes, you could listen to some of their songs to hear the tone. imo, it's a great sound.
if you want to hear a ts-9 through a twin reverb, listen to some minus the bear. both of their guitarists use twin reverbs w/ ts-9's. also a great sound. good luck with your pick.

If you're looking to A/B a clean amp vs. your distorted Mesa then Twin is no contest IMO.
It has much more headroom than the Vox and would easily hang with the Mesa volume-wise. However if you are looking to drive an overdriven amp with your TS9 then AC30 is the better choice, although to me that particular combination sounds too nasaly and middy.
