vtm 60 + peavey 412s cab

i just bought this set for $504 with 5 cables included in the price... it is used, but plays fine, and it has replaced tubes in it. I was wondering what people thought about these vtms and what you think of the price...

seems like a good price to me ... i have a vtm60 also off of ebay ... i paid somewhere around 250 for it - can't remember - no cab with it ... aside from dust it was in real good shape ... it still has the peavey labeled tubes in it ... i like it a lot tho i haven't really gotten to use it at all ... i'm waiting for the day i can TURN IT UP! ... it would be nice if it had reverb but since i don't really ever plan to use it clean it's not such a big deal ... one day i'm gonna set it up clean and see how it takes pedals ... and i've never checked how worthwhile it's loop is ... i think i've been neglecting it ...

what are the specs on that cab? is it a "matching" cab? i saw an auction for that same pair but i didn't really pay a lot off attention - that was about 6 mos ago ...

you've got a nice rig there buddy. Yeah it has an exact matching cabinet, but my vtm is not black... for some reason it is a classic looking tweed color... i don't know if it is maybe first generation or something... but yeah, the cab is matching... it's pretty nice... its an 8 ohm 412s, so its not HUGE HUGE but its nice sized... i like the sound though cause theres not that many watts going through the cab, so i hear a higher fidelity sound coming out of it. for 504 dollars this complete amp is hardcorely much better than a 65 watt digital peavey combo... driving that much wattage through one 12 inch speaker never seemed like that great of an idea to me anyways...

well thanks a lot dude! glad you and i think so ... sure none of my amps are heavily regarded, but i like em - and i like what i do with em ... anyway ...

there's no impedence switches on that cab? it only does 8 ohms? i'm surprised by that cause the head has a lot of outs for 4, 8, and 16 ... do you know what kinda speakers are in it? i'm just curious if peavey had something specific in mind when making a cab to go with the vtm ...

uhhh actually its a 16 ohm stereo cabinet. it has 4 25 watt 4 ohm peavey scorpion speakers. The head has a 16 ohm, an 8 ohm a 4 ohm and an 'unused' output. It sounds good... however, the amp would be so much ****ing better if it had a second channel, a footswitch and footswitchable reverb. But hey, who's complaining... i like it just fine. I'm thinking about getting a fender clean head around 60 watts (if they make em) and sticking it on the left channel of my stereo cab, with an a/b switch and a signal clip debunker that'll take out the spike when switching from amp to amp. That'll give me HELLA flexibiltiy with my tone... i can use the tube gain, or just a clean ass fender sound for pedals, effects, whatever... and it'll all sit atop the 412 and not be much higher off the ground than 4 1/2 feet.
