1) Does it need to be retubed? Does it actually sound not so good?

2) For Clean, any correct type tube?

3) For overdrive? Sell it and buy a marshall or Hot Rod or Mesa or nontwin. Twin Reverb amps are not overdrive machines, unless you've decided that going Deaf would be OK.

yes it really does need to be re-tubed, the sound is not very good anymore, by overdrive i mean overdriven with a pedal, and no i would never get rid of my twin or sub it for a crappy mesa...

Well, if you don't wanna go broke, I heard that the new Sovtek 6L6WXT tubes (not the old 5881 tubes, which are crap) are pretty good. But the best tube you could probably buy is the Svetlana 6L6GC. JJ/Tesla have a good reputation too. Groove Tubes are just relabeled Sovteks most of the time, so they're not worth the extra money.
