Mikes POD

Is it fair to guess that running all those pedals AND a Filter Factory in the same signal path would be too much?

Maybe, he recreates his Marshall/AC30 tone with the POD and uses the Filter Factory ontop, but it sounds so freaky that you cant tell the difference between a real pre amp and the POD's pre amp.

Anyone know what he uses the Marshall/AC30 for
Does he use them for different channels?

Oh mighty FunkatronShaun, please grace me with your eternal knowledge! seriously guys, this man does his homework, i think he has no job, cos hes a spoilt rich kid, and spends all day figuiring out **** that would lobotamize the average guitar geek

Dude, you are exceptional, now i have badger breath from kissing his ass

He uses the ac30 for clean and the marshall for dirty.

Still have no clue on the POD.

well, did any of you ever think that he might use the pod for its effects section? its just a guess, but it could be right. until this thread i didnt know he had a pod on his board. i do, however, know my sounds. when it comes to the ph-2 you cant tell me any different because i have an ear for that thing. there is no whammy in that solo, or flanger in nice to know you. pardon me, however, does have a flanger. anyway, its just common knowledge. i dont really do my homework, or i would have been arguing about the pedals mike uses on his board. your guess is as good as mine. all i know is what ive seen and read. i do have a job, and no, im not rich at all. in fact, im poverty stricken. how do you like that? i dont spend all my time figuring out what mike uses because i really dont care. i just know what i hear. if you people would stop obsessing over mike einziger and find your own sound you would be surprised at how much better you feel about yourself.

As far as I go, I have my own sound, and its nothing like Mike Einziger.

www.purevolume.com/fivestarfracture If your bored check that out.

Mikey is just fun to dig into, he's a tastefull user of effects.

Thats all I gotta say.

Wow.

I use completely differant settings/pedals than the one's mentioned, a PH-3 instead of a PH-2, a DD-3 instead of a Reverd/Delay, and a wah for swirly part in "Wish You Were Here".

This being said, I think you're all very close. Mike would be proud. Hell, I'm proud!

Enough about this "my own sound" bullsh*t too. If you want to talk about your own sound go make another thread. This one is titled "Mike Einzinger Fans" in case none of you can read [although you seem to be able to write...].

Oh yeah, and "listening", "watching a DVD" and "Seeing Incubus live" are all forms of homework. So good on ya' if you you did it.

yeah. i didnt mean to sound like a bunshole when i wrote that, but i was kind of aggrivated at the smart-ass 'oh might funkatron shaun' comment. i dont want to be refered to as 'oh mighty.' i just know what i hear. i tend to have a pretty decent ear when it comes to einziger. i, myself, dont really have my own sound, but im not an einziger kid anymore. thats all that really matters.

Hey, we all get a little testy sometimes, and that's cool. It means you give a damn.
I also thought "Mighty Funkatron Shaun" sounded pretty cool, even if it was said in a derogatory manner...
To be honest with you, I have no idea about the differance between some of these pedals. If I can approximate on something else, even thought it may not be exact, I'm still just happy I can play the song correctly. To be able to discern those kinds of sounds is a talent in and of itself. But to be able to move outside of your influences, which I imagine is what you're doing right now, is quite an amazing task. Good luck.

I lived in Minot AFB, North Dakota when I was a little whipper-snapper. The radio stations were sh*t, it was cold as hell [the snow was great though], and I had a lot of good times. But you're right about their not being anything to do, that place is a drag! Great people though, they know how to have a good time admist the boredum.
Mike is a great choice as a teacher...it's better than say, Munky or Head from Korn...[my opinion, apologies to all you Korn fans out there]

i always thought he was using a flanger on nowhere fast because althought i dont have a flanger it sounds like chorus with that phase kind of sound to it.

"I lived in Minot AFB, North Dakota when I was a little whipper-snapper. "

You lived in North Dakota too, I'm sorry. I hate it here, Im moving to Cali in march, thank god.

It is indeed a super phaser. But thats the thing, for example, pardon me on the cd he uses a flanger but live he uses a super phaser. So its like how should you play it the way he plays it live or on the cd.

i always thought it was the phase 90 on nowhere fast.

im sorry about the mighty funkatron shaun thing, i came off like quite uh... pardon my french.. an asshole

just kinda got mad whenever you were right AGAIN and i thought... well.... im a ****

sorry, but its true you do know your mikey stuff.

sounds kinda funny though when you say you make your own sound but still remember mikeys settings and pedals. anyway better than me. im still an "einziger kid" in my book. its a good sound to emulate until i find my own, which is hard because every kind of tone that i think is cool in my head always kinda sounds like either mikey, radiohead, or smashing pumpkins

back to his board, though, were kinda getting off topic
