Bush

I've searched around the net for awhile, but haven't found hardly any information on what Nigel Pulsford used while he was in Bush. If anyone has any info on his or Gavin's rig that'd be rad...

Bush X

Ok can anyone tell me what guitars, amps and effects Bush (we call them Bush X in Canada) used on the album, Razorblade Suitcase?

I heard that Gavin uses Strats and a but load of various distortions and some flangers but that's not enough info at all.

I believe their chief guitarist (or ex-guitarist, rather...what a shame) used les pauls though various FX pedals...i remember reading an interview with him where he said he liked to use rare & peculiar pedals, so i wouldn't be surprised to find some EH stuff in there, maybe even some Lovetone...used em through a Bradshaw MIDI switching system. as for amps...no idea, could be marshalls or mesas.

I'm from Canada too, and still call them "Bush X" because personally, I think it's a better name than just "Bush".

I LOVE that album and the guitar sound on it.

Gavin uses Strats and Jazzmasters w/ Ernie Ball 46-10s
Mesa/Boogie Trem-o-verb amps
Bixonic Expandoras

Nigel
Strats and Les Pauls
Mesa Trem-o-verbs
Mesa Blue Angels
variety of rare pedals he finds on e-bay

For me, most of the songs I like (Bonedriven, Straight No Chaser, Cold Contageous, Mouth, etc) it works to use a singlecoil neck pickup and not too much distortion...just dirty it up.

Cool Does Anybody Know What Pickups Gavin Rossdale From Bush Uses With His Jazzmaster?

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me find out what pickups Gavin Rossdale (Bush) has adapted to his Fender Jazzmaster, if anyone has pictures, that would help too!!!

He used SD humbuckers. Either '59s or Alnico IIs, I think. He likes to use very clean transparent pickups to let the sound of the guitar ring through.

Gavin's guitars at least through the Razorblade era were loaded with Seymour Duncan Alnico II's. After that I remember seeing many of his guitars with Lace Sensor's or EMG's.

The longer Bush went, the more Nigel started to integrate vintage effects and amps into his rig. There's a great guitarworld article about it from early 2000s. I'll see if I can dig it up and type out all the main points.

I think it's amazing Gavin uses .10's on a Jazzmaster. .11's feel flabby to me.

I believe he also used a few Mesas during the recording of Sixteen Stone and Razorblade Suitcase.

One of the MK's and a Tremoverb maybe?
