What is their setup like. Those guitar riffs are insanely heavy.

I knew there had to be an SG in there. They're just an SG kind of band.

Smile

Finally someone talks about great Electric Wizard on internet!
I have searched for their pics, gear, ...
From the pics available on internet seem Jus have not a marshall head (it's unknow head, look like ampeg head), and ds-1 (look the pic with Jus effects on the floor).
Check the pics on stonerrock site.
I would like the see them in concert, but here in Italy i don't know when... i hope in the future.
bye

are you sure about the marshalls? i read an interview in which he said that he hates marshalls because they're so generic. he said he's into old 70s amps: sunn and orange

they just brought out a new album, amazing ****. the artwork inside of the cd is pretty cool too. i hope they're having plans for a big tour, i wanna see them live

weak doom **** off!

[edit] by the way, that SG is an epiphone, he said that he likes cheap guitars. if they get damaged you just buy a new one. he also doesn't bother changing strings untill they break hehe that's the spirit. oh and in a bootleg i also heard jus using an octaver very clearing

Do you have a link to the article? Or did you read it in a magazine?

i've seen them live and jus was definately using a marshall, although it looked very new so maybe it was rented for tour or something. the new album is amazing - apparently the vinyl has a bonus instrumental which is great.

just a wee update on the wizard rig, my mate saw them in london abput two months (?) ago, and told me that jus's rig was: gibson sg, crybaby, big muff, massive delay pedal that may or may not have been a painted dan reel, dod phaser, all into a marshall head with the logo removed and a 4x12.

that sounds right to me, but bear in mind that my source is a drummer with "short terms memory problems"....c'mon, he was at a wizard gig!!!

Are you sure it was a Marshall?

This picture is from April 9, 2005, and that is most definately not a Marshall, heh.

I can't find any pedal pictures, but here's a rack picture (kind of). It's from 2001 though.

I downloaded a live video of EW playing Dopethrone in 2002, and Jus was playing through a Mesa Rectifier/Marshall Cabinets (with his Epiphone SG of course). It sounded a lot like the album version, maybe it's possible that he used a Recto on the Dopethrone album.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...z_m_a_n/ew.jpg

Sorry about the double post, I've just been kinda browsing around all day looking for stuff on this. I love Jus' thick, muddy, heavy-ass tone, especially on the Dopethrone album, so I'm pretty interested as to what he was using. Possibly the Recto I guess, but I still have no clue what pedals he could've been using. Oh well. I'll keep looking around.
