Godspeed You! Black Emperor

So GY!BE have come out of hiatus to tour. I just saw them in Glasgow, but didn't get a good look at their gear; though I did see that David Bryant is still playing a Travis Bean, Efrim Menuck is playing what looked like a Les Paul, and Mike Moya is playing a Telecaster. Does anyone have any new shots of their gear/pedalboards/etc.?

I'm seeing them in January, so I'm definitely gonna keep an eye out!

all the photos i got weren't really good enough to properly identify anything.

what i can say this is LOTS of pedals i didnt recognize. mainly boutique.

Saw them at ATP (all three nights) and they were phenomenal.

I'm pretty up to date with with boutique pedals, so, we'll see. However, GY!BE and expensive boutique pedals don't really seem logical to me, haha.
And, you lucky dawg! I wish I could've been at ATP as well!

but cheap mass produced ones from the third world do?

this is a band that was always into diy and local business, supporting the small guy....makes a lot more sense then a boat load of boss. look at efrims smz boards.....

granted they are selling shirts and charging a mint for their shows now..

I knew someone was gonna say this. It depends on the definition of boutique. I can't imagine the guys from GY!BE rocking a Klon or whatever.

I remember seeing a klon at hotel 2 tango in a pile of pedals.

I interviewed Efrim on the last ASMZ tour and while he was pretty tight lipped on the whole subject of pedals he did say that he favours boutique pedals because of the better build quality and reliability, apparently he's had lots of problems with boss and other mainstream pedals crapping out on him...

If any pictures of their current boards turn up i'd be very excited to see them...Both Efrim and Dave had 2 boards each, both packed with LOTS of pedals...

Mike's board was fairly unimpressive by comparison, only two or three pedals, mostly boss...Evidently he doesn't share Efrims prejudice.

I'm in the process of locating some very recent (i.e. a few days ago) shots of the new GY!BE boards for y'alls delectation. Until then, here's some past shots to whet yr appetites...

Efrim: http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/1...alboard7vz.jpg
Dave: http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/1...itarpedals.jpg

It would appear that Dave has no aversion to Boss (as he shouldn't!). I wonder if Efrim is still using the old Boss Multi Effects unit...

That was one of efrims 2 pedal boards for that tour. The Boss Multi is used on the Minidisc and used to effect samples as far as I know.

Ok, here are the only photos i got that are even remotely usable

Efrim (with the guy who sits next to hims in the foreground)

tho efrim gets a lot of the interest. Tbh i was suprised when watching them how little he did. It was the guy on the right of the stage with the guitar made of metal who seemed to be doing the important bits of the tune. His pedal board was big. Way bigger than the others as it was split in two.

total rig
Board 1
Board II (with violinists board in the background)

as i say, none of these are great pics, but perhaps you can identify some of the pedals from it

Well! They are much better than the photos I have. I see Dave is still using a Boss RV-3, and what looks like a Boss Compressor and a Fuzz Factory, as well as an iPhone (?). Moya appears to be using a Boss EQ, and a Boss RV-?. No idea about Efrim.
