Seems like a perfectly respectable workhorse rig. My own pedalboard isn't too far off and is capable of sufficient levels of weirdness.

It pains me to see one of my favorite guitarist growing up using such a dumb rig.
Line 6 Echo Park!?... really James!! A one spot adapter? I guess when you're going into a Matchless you don't really need a lot of pedals. I guess we know James isn't the one getting Pumpkin royalties.

Sorry sorry... that was really snobby... There are just slightly cleaner more reliable and higher quality power sources. It does what it needs to pretty well. I used to use one. But I wasn't in a multi-platinum rock act, and something tells me neither were you.

I still cant see what's wrong with that rig. Why does everybody think "Pros" only use Boutique stuff? I guess only guitarists who don't know anything about what's the essence of music just use only expensive boutique pedals... Guess what? My favourite pedal is a 40 bucks EHX Double Muff - I prefer it over every other fuzz including a Way Huge Swollen Pickle and a Voodoo Lab Superfuzz...

I like the EHX Double Muff. EHX makes good effects. And yes... we're being snobby. The "Pros" are just people who make money playing music.

I think that's the point... it's their job and most of them use their instruments and pedals like tools. They have to work for them the right way and should be reliable. Nothing more or less. I guess there is nothing wrong with us amateurs having fun with expensive equipment, I must admit I LOVE fancy pedals - but I'm one of those geeks who love ALL funny pedals - the more colors on my board the better - but I think it' isn't the right way sneering at some stars in the way "puh, he just uses that crappy pedals, what's wrong with him" - they have a different view on things...

A few days ago I saw one of the best Indie/60s/Britpop-Bands of Austria (Velojet) - REALLY good sound - the singer/guitarist of the band uses one of the ugliest boards I've ever seen... - but it works for him

Many Brazilians pro guitarists who own a ****load of vintage gear use PODs live because they are cheap and reliable. And no, the audience can't hear the difference. As much as it hurts me to say this, were I a busy gigging musician I'd probably do something similar.

Selling BOSS FW-3. I live in Brazil, mind you, so prepare yourself for $30-ish for shipping and waiting. Local pickup available, along with beautiful beaches and cheap bitches.

For that Power-Pop stuff, I think James is on the mark.

ya James& friends probably used a lot of different stuff to record their album.
for live gigs maybe he's using stuff that doesn't matter if it gets broken, lost, stolen.

same here, if I were a touring musician I'd be nervous about taking most of my stuff with me. I'd get some multi fx or a bunch of cheap behringer stuff.

this doesn't excuse him from being in a band with a member of Hanson though.

Hey, I'm sure he's a nice guy... But it's weird to see James Iha in a Power Pop band with him - although... why not? Sometimes unexpected combinations are winners. In this case... I think it failed. But - who cares?
