No calling for me? I see how it is....

He used the guitars you mentioned, as well as several Rickenbackers. He used, correct me if im wrong, Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Faces, and Binson Echo Units. I'm pretty sure thats all he used for Floyd. I can't tell you about the Mad Cap Laughs though.

Selmer Treble & Bass amps.

also - the Silvertone (Danelectro) had a Telecaster neck which IMO must have been impossible to intonate which was probably something that was desireable to Syd at that time.

thats odd because on the vinal verson of the first record you can clearly see the Dano neck in the album art???

I know he used a Tele or Esquire or whatnot but im pretty sure he used Vox amps, cause in a picture in the liner notes for Piper at The Gates theres a Vox amp.

You missing a bit:

Vox treble booster/various treble boosters(I've seen a few brands mentioned, i tend to beleive it was a vox, a rangemaster was also mentioned in a article)
Vox wah used at least on "apples and oranges"
Vox Tonebender

Also, I have never seen a reference to a Fuzz Face, the vox stuff yes, and even rarely references to coloursound fuzz's. If you can point me at another article I would be really happy I love stuff on barretts gear.

Fender Twins are one of the many amps he is seen using. You can hear the reverb and tremolo from it all over Piper at the Gates of Dawn, and see a twin located in studio photos. Might have been a studio owned amp though. The Selmers, WEMS, and even a Copycat echo have been mentioned all over the place at various points in time. In regard to the vox amp, I always assume that was the keyboardist.

Does anyone have book of pink floyd dates and gig history? There are some amazing photos in it but i haven;t seen a copy since....1996? Wow that is a while. I never bought it because post-barrett floyd is of no interest to me whatsoever.

I know quite a bit and have been researching his equipment on and off for a few years. for the madcap laughs it was probably just a tele, a binson and a twin, or it might have been gilmours rig for that period. Nobody know exactly how much syd actually did on those albums, as he was a little.....out of it by that point, so all the leads might be gilmour.

Just remember it because it was during one of the art house shows and he was strumming the Dano and I remember clearly seeing him detuning all of the strings while he was playing. It is quite possible he had more than one Dano-style seeing as how they don't really break the bank. It was the same show where they keep scrolling around the crowd and you can plainly see John Lennon in the crowd.

There used to be a great site that had all of Syd's gear with pics but it disappeared about a year ago. They didn't list the Dano-caster either but I know I have seen it.
