Talking "Talked" to Isaac Brock tonite...

I accidently happened to surf to the Modest Mouse website while Isaac was having a live chat thing..

Couldnt get any information on his rig though, other than he admitted to using a custom built guitar for most of his stuff, since he learned how to learn on 'crappy butt rock guitars' (BC Rich?) and I guess he was used to them.

I asked him like 10 different questions about his gear, and he answered none of them. Damn him and his mysteriousness..

Another person asked "What pedal do you use in the intro harmonics in 'Black Cadillacs" OR how do you get those crazy sounds" and said 'Magic.' Well, I guess you cant blame him. I tried to be a good Geek.. but to no avail.

He only answered one of my questions (I asked if they were coming out East and he said Id know when he did)... he called me dude!! I felt like a 7th grade girl talking to a Backstreet Boy... tomorrow Im going to write "I heart Issac Brock" on all my stuff and start signing my name "Clifford Brock" and hang pictures in my locker... ~siiigh~ ... he's so dreamy

What ever happend to the back street boys?

They changed their name. These days they're called "Good Charlotte."

It looks like Isaac has a tuner, a volume and all three boss delay pedals
maybe a pitchshifter

hopefully someone else can tell what the rest are

The front row of the pedalboard has a boss tuner, a Dan echo, Daddy-O, and a MXR Micro amp.

In the last picture, Im assuming a Small clone is the top row, middle.. Since he uses a lot of chorus and none of the other pedals look capable of chorus.

Maybe that blue boss on the top picture is a pitshifter for chorus sounds.. though that's kind of a stretch.

The 2nd guitarist in the 'Float On' video might just be to explain all the layered parts he does.. by himself in the studio. I havent seen the video though..

The second guitarist is Dan Gallucci he was in the band circa "this is a long drive..." but he left to start Murder City Devils and now he's back and on the new record

he's not the guy the other guy in the pictures though. I forget his name. He just toured with them I belive

By the way he is such a badass guitarist Modest Mouse and Murder City Devils are two of my favorite bands

the knerd fansite that's linked off the modestmouse site has a listing of gear they use, and interviews where they talk about their gear.

I heard that Isaac was using a Metal Zone. But at any rate, that's the other guitarist's pedal board.
