On the other guitarist's pedalboard, no one's mentioned the pedal in the wayyyy corner. It looks like a Marshall pedal, but it's not a Shredmaster (different knobs).
Isaac has a deluxe EH pedal with red lettering, I don't know what it would be besides a Deluxe Big Muff but I could be wrong. Also, there's an orangeish Boss which I'd guess is a DF-2 because Isaac would probably like it. edit: Apparently the deluxe pedal is a Memory Man according to the Knerd site, though it doesn't look much like one to me but it's not a very clear picture. That site also confirms that he uses a Metal Zone. It also says he has a Boss tremolo, though I don't know why he'd need it with two Fender amps.

tremelo would likely be for different speeds, or a different sound/tone. i use a tremelo pedal, though i have lovely tremelo on my bandmaster.
even though he uses two super six's, in interviews he never sounds very happy with them. odd bird, that isaac.

On some songs it sounds like there's a Whammy or some other pitch shifter in there.

I don;t like this band or know the guys in it, but here is what I see:
Guy in Plaid Shirt: EH Deluxe memory man, Boss Delay, either a Blues Driver or a Pitch shifter(looks more like the Blues drivers colour), Boss SD-2/OD-2(4 knob overdrive), TU-2 And a channel switcher Dude of many Emo tats: TU-2, Dunlop Tremolo, EH Bass Balls, Boss Metal Zone, MXR Micro Amp, Dano Daddy-o, Dano Dan Echo, tu2, Cheap Volume pedal.

I just picked up the new album yesterday. I hadn't heard anything from it yet, but it was $7.99 at best buy, so I snagged it. Then I saw it at Target for a penny cheaper! DAMN YOU, "BEST" BUY!!!
Jesus, I remember a few short years ago having trouble finding even "The Lonesome Crowded West" in stores. Now they're at f*cking TARGET???!!!??!!?! Personally, I much prefer the pre-major-label albums. Maybe this stuff'll grow on me, but it just doesn't seem the same as "Edit the Sad Parts" or "Sunspots in the House of the Late Scapegoat" or "Talking Sh¡t About a Pretty Sunset" or ... OH! "Convenient Parking"!!!!! "Soon a chain reaction started in the parking lot..."

ME TOO. I do like "m&a" a considerable amount.. but I dont know if I like this new direction. Isaac doesnt even really sound like he does on the other albums a lot of times. I can see people buying their older stuff thinking it's all going to sound like 'Float On' and being disappointed. |

When I saw MM last year I was front row center right in front of Isaac..... I can confirm from memory 3 DD-3s, a Boss pitchshifter, a tremolo of some sort (Danelectro? I could be way off), a TU2, distortion of some sort (of course), and the rest is fuzzy.....

I like the new album. For the most part. There are a couple tracks that aren't as solid as the rest of the album, but there is a lot of fodder in the back catalog. I'm a huge fan of this is a long drive era modest mouse, but I think the new stuff is pretty fantastic too.
I am happy enough to see bands evolve. Certain bands just start to suck, but if a band can change directions and still make good music then more power to them. Oh, and I realllly like the song Bukowski on the new album. It gets stuck in my head. |
