Not true at all. I have a CT6 M and it sounds very much like the paf's in old Gibson's . You'll also find the workmanship flawless to anything else out their. Every guitar I might purchase in the future will be a Carvin . Still can't get over the quality.

Dunno. I've never played a Carvin guitar or amp. Don't even know how or where to get one.

I have a 9 year old Carvin DC-127. But the pickups are not original anymore. They weren't bad though. A little cold. I also have a bolt kit. The pickups are kind of bright and thin. Of course, it has two singles and a humbucker with 500k pots. Maybe that's why the singles don't sound normal. But the guitars themselves are better than most anything i've touched. I'm sure their recent pickups are good enough.
